Coverages

In Texas, all drivers are required to carry a minimum amount of liability insurance. It is important to understand the different types of coverages available because this minimum coverage is often not enough to protect your family or your property if you are involved in an accident, particularly if you are found legally liable in such a case. Some of the coverages Worth offers are listed to the right. Individual coverages may vary. Always refer to your policy, as certain conditions, exclusions, and/or limitations may apply.

Liability. This coverage (required by Texas law) pays, up to the policy limit, bodily injury and property damages to other parties, caused in an accident in which an insured is found legally liable.

Collision. Collision coverage pays for damages sustained by a covered vehicle, in excess of the deductible, as a result of collision or loss of control.

Other than Collision. Coverage is designed to pay for miscellaneous damages to a covered automobile, in excess of the deductible. Some of these losses include those caused by fire, theft, animal collision, or weather-related events such as hail or flood. Glass repair or replacement is also covered.

Medical Payments. This coverage pays reasonable medical and/or funeral expenses incurred as a result of injury sustained by an insured driver or an insured passenger, while legally occupying the vehicle.

Personal Injury Protection. As well as covering medical and/or funeral expenses as described above, this protection may also provide (along with other benefits) payment of up to 80% of lost income by an insured or an insured passenger due to injuries sustained in an accident.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist. This coverage pays for property damages and bodily injury sustained by an insured during an accident in which the at-fault driver does not carry any liability insurance, or in some cases, when the at-fault party does not carry enough insurance to cover the losses, as in a multi-vehicle accident.

Towing & Labor. This coverage is offered as a convenience to help defray the cost of emergency repair, towing, or roadside assistance. Various losses covered under this protection include roadside tire repair, battery jumpstart, or towing due to vehicle disablement.

Rental Reimbursement. This coverage is offered to reimburse an insured person for reasonable vehicle rental expenses incurred, up to the policy limit, as a result of losses covered, such as prolonged disablement of the insured vehicle due to repair.
